Rubber Replantation Scheme

Overview

The Rubber Replantation Scheme, implemented under the KERA project, is designed to assist small and marginal rubber growers in replacing senile plantations with high-yielding, climate-resilient varieties. The scheme offers financial aid and promotes the adoption of modern cultivation practices to enhance productivity and sustainability.This project is implemented with the technical support of Rubber Board.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicable to rubber growers in Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Malappuram, and Kannur districts.
  • Growers must own senile rubber plantations (older than 30 years).
  • Total holding eligible for support should not exceed 5 hectares, with a minimum replantable area of 0.10 hectares.
  • Only own land (no leased land) is eligible.
  • Replanting must be done after removing uneconomic trees—new planting or area expansion is not supported.
  • Applicants must attend mandatory training by KERA.
  • Land should notified as paddy field shall not be eligible.

Training Requirements

Before receiving assistance, the grower must enroll in and complete mandatory training sessions conducted by KERA. Training includes best practices in replanting, use of certified planting materials, soil preparation, spacing, and climate-resilient cultivation.

Required Documents for Scheme Application

  • Aadhaar Card / Identity Proof
  • Aadhaar-linked bank passbook (account page)
  • Latest land tax receipt
  • Valid possession certificate
  • Self-drawn location sketch of plantation
  • Nursery invoice copy (certified nursery only)
  • Nomination/Power of Attorney forms (if applicable)
  • Any other relevant document

🔗 Applications must be submitted through the KERA online portal, along with scanned document uploads in PDF format (max size: 1mb per file).

Scheme Implementation Flow

  • KERA Field Officers (KFOs) inspect and recommend eligible areas with geotagged photos.
  • Field Officer (Rubber Board) validates 10% of applications with additional inspection.
  • Dy RPC/AD, RPC (HO), and PIU scrutinize and approve.
  • SPMU allocates and disburses funds to eligible beneficiaries through DBT.
